Northamptonshire is often referred to as England’s best-kept secret – and with a population of just 40 people, our rural community is so small, we
are frequently omitted from maps.
WINWICK FLOOD PREVENTION & BROOK ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
The Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) has awarded a start-up grant of £3,600 in March 2018 to The Guardians of Winwick. A Project Team has been formed in the village to produce a three part Community Flood Plan: Resilience, Maintenance & Improvement.
The aim of the project is to improve the brook and water courses and enhance the visual appearance of the section of Clay Coton Brook that runs through the village. We will be producing detailed designs and specifications for the work required.
We will continue to raise funds and apply for grants so we can implement a series of improvement projects. This is a long term project which could extend for five to ten years.
A GREAT AFTERNOON FOR ALL THE FAMILY AT THE WINWICK COUNTRY CHURCH FETE AND FUN DOG SHOW 2017
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2PM – 5PM
Hundreds of visitors once again made their way to our tiny village in Northamptonshire for the Winwick Country Church Fete and Fun Dog Show 2017.
In 2017, the popular event took place on Sunday September 3rd, and the good news is it was the biggest since Winwick first started holding Fetes more than 70 years ago.
